Apartment Purgstall

The Purgstall noble family came to Bela krajina at the beginning of the 16th century and soon became the rulers of several important estates, especially Krupa, Gradac, Pobrežje, Vinica, and of course the Krasinec manor. Valvasor wrote that they were tall and strong men, which helped them prove themselves in battles against the Turks and on many battlefields across Europe. Their name was also carried by the well-known intellectual, orientalist, and historian Joseph von Hammer-Purgstall.
